Carly — OBD2 car scanner App Reviews

The only app for BMW diagnostic!!

All apps I tested only show the standard obd fault codes and no more! To perform a real diagnostic manufacture specific codes are required! To perform a diag on BMW this app is the onl issue (with the V-link device)! The developper is every time available and sympathic!!! If you have any problems is here!!!!

Nice application and excellent customer service

Application seems great and the customer service is even greater- prompt, relevant answers and advices from the developper. Many thanks!

Great !!

A must have for every BMW owner !!! Tested and work perfect on e87 and e93. Save us a lot of money :)

Missing features, zero support from developer

Free version indicates features available to code on R56 MINI Cooper that do not work in the Pro version. Several coding features are missing as well that are available via NCSExpert Tools. I submitted several support requests - all were ignored by the developer. Unfortunately you dont find this out until purchasing the full version. Fortunately iTunes gave me a refund for the very expensive $70 Pro version. The Pro version at $65-70 should work as advertised with impeccable support - you get neither with "Carly for BMW pro". Avoid!

Works on 2013 X6 e71

Works for most vehicle systems, asks to buy proprietary obd2 adapter for others, got email diagnostics response within minutes.

Good enough

Good enough to try out whether the app works on your Bimmer.

Flawless

Perfect application, perfect connection & even works with my s1000rr

e83/e46

It doesnt work with e83/e46 cars.

Z4 e89

Z4 e89... I cant see models of this car... List is empty(((( so sad

language

hi. please translate the appendix into Russian!!!!

No coding for F83

Still, no support or coding for F83 (2016 M4 convertible).

not compatible

Downloaded the Lite version, and is not compatible with my 2008 BMW 328i, therefore will not be purchasing the full version.

Works as intended. Excellent support.

This lite version is intended only to check compatibility with your vehicle before purchasing the full blown version. It works flawlessly for that purpose and is compatible with my 07 X5 but not my 2000 E38. Online support was truly excellent and Parvis (the developer) responded to my email within 30 minutes (from Germany). The problem with incompatibility on some vehicles is that BMW uses a different communication protocol on those vehicles and none of the available wifi/BT adapters can support that protocol. Bottom line, rate the software for how it performs its intended duty, not whether it works with your specific car. For that, its five stars!

Great app!

This is a great app. I was able to read the fault codes on my 2002 bmw 325ci. Support is top notch! Thanks for saving me a lot of money by not going to a dealer or repair shop just to diagnose a problem. Bought the full version already.

Awesome!

Along with a wifi obd2 dongle, its a great way to discover hidden faults in your BMW. Also, the team was very responsive in my questions.

Does a lot more than most obd2 scans

This app does a much better job of finding all BMW faults than other apps. I have tried the lite version only. The app developer is very responsive and has a good product. I will purchase the full version.

Good, could be better

Its great to be able to scan all these computers. Its not great that the latest Twin Power motors arent supported. Id also like to be able to read the report it spits out without having to email it to you. Add the newer motors and ECUs and Ill buy the full version. As is, its not worth $50 to me.

Good quick look at my BMW 745 iL

Using a PLX Kiwi2 Wifi adapter, BMWhatLite gave me a quick look at the faults showing up on my car. Parvis send me back a nice summary of the issues. Now I have to decide if I want to buy the full version!

Great app

Great app, fast responses great communication. Works with both my BMW vehicles, e90 and e70!

Works, but know the limits of this app.

I’m looking at getting the full version, and I wanted to make sure that my OBDII WiFi adapter worked before buying the full version so I can do coding on my Mini. After a few attempts, reboots of my adapter and so on, I was able to get this program to communicate fine, and generate a report log. You can’t do much with this version of the app, its more a test so you can verify your adapter and car can communicate effectively. The log it generates is encrypted, and sent out to the BMWhat guys, - after a short return its sent back to you (via - email) decoded so you can read it. This version of the app can’t clear fault codes, or do coding. But for a free program that can read and scan BMW/Mini ECUs “its good”.
